Three Truths for Divine Healing

“Faith begins where the will of God is known.” – Kenneth Hagin

I remember hearing that quoted often in Bible College and at church. The only way that you can have faith for something is to believe that God wants you to have it. After all, that’s what the word says, right?

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him,” - 1 John 5:14-15

In other words, if you are curious as to what God says regarding something, get into the Word and find out what He says. This post is to build the faith in you to believe that God wants you to be healed and give you the foundation to believe God for that.

The first truth I want you to consider is that you can have faith for healing based simply on the Word.

In Proverbs 4:20-22 it says this, My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”

The Word is more than a book of stories and something to read casually. It’s not just a history book to show us where we came from. The Bible is the most powerful weapon on this earth and has the power to accomplish what God wants it to accomplish. In Hebrews 4 it says that it’s “living, powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword.” When we treat the Word as common, it won’t accomplish anything spectacular in our lives. However, when we treat it as God speaking to us, it can perform mighty things through us and in us.

When you take His Word and meditate on it, you attract what you are meditating on. You need healing? Meditate on the promises of God concerning healing and your body will start responding to the life of God that’s in the Word. His Word works!

The second truth I want you to consider is the fact that healing is found in the atonement.

'But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.' –Isaiah 53:5

'When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”' - Matthew 8:16-17

'who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— by whose stripes you were healed. '

-I Peter 2:24

Here you have three scriptures that point to this truth. In Isaiah, you have Isaiah prophesying to what would come— this coming Messiah. Isaiah gives the most detailed account of the coming Savior. In chapter 53 Isaiah speaks of the Messiah’s suffering and what he would endure. Isaiah looks to the future and says because the stripes that Jesus will take on his back in the future, you can obtain healing. Not healing in your emotions or spiritual healing only, but physical healing.

The second scripture is an account of the many times Jesus healed all and delivered anyone that came to him. He did it to show the love of the Father, to demonstrate the goodness of God, but He also did it to fulfill prophecy about what was written about Him. He was fulfilling what Isaiah had prophesied. In other words, every time Jesus was opening up the eyes of the blind He was saying, “it is fulfilled.” Every time that He was healing someone who was handicapped, He was saying,“It is fulfilled.” Every time Jesus was delivering the oppressed, He was saying, “It is fulfilled.” Jesus was the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy and would soon pay for the healing of any one that should come to Him.

The third scripture is one of Peter’s letters. Peter is writing and looking back to what happened on the cross. He looked at the life Jesus lived, reflected on the prophecy of Isaiah and he said that because of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, you were already healed. He was looking back to Calvary. He says it already happened, you have been healed. It was an accomplished fact what took place on the cross. You were healed!

The third truth I want you to realize is that you can expect God to heal you based off of your individual faith.

'And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. ' - James 5:15

A prayer offered in faith can heal any person with any sickness. You don’t have to be a special preacher or be in the five-fold ministry. You just have to be a believer. There is no sickness and disease that can stand in front of your faith-filled prayers. You can pray these prayers for others and see them healed or you can lay hands on yourself, pray in faith and watch God work in a powerful way. Your faith in God being your healer can make you whole!

Consider Mark 5:25-34 with the woman that had the issue of blood. A woman that spent her life savings on doctors to be healed heard about the miracles that Jesus had done. She didn’t have any other options but to rely on God. She realized that Jesus was passing by and she kept saying to herself that if she could just touch Him, she could be healed. The doctors couldn’t help, medicine couldn’t help, only Jesus could help. When she got in the vicinity of Jesus, she reached out, touched His garment and was immediately healed of that issue of blood. She was healed off of her faith in God. If her faith can make her healed, your faith can make you healed! That’s good news! It doesn’t matter what doctors say, it doesn’t matter if you have no natural help. You just need faith in God! Faith in God will make all the difference.

You see, there is no sickness that can stand before your faith in God. His goodness knows no bounds, His love knows no limits and His healing power wants to be demonstrated without any restraints. You can receive your healing today! He is more than willing to show His power to whoever needs it.

If you need healing, send me a message and let’s believe God.
